I’ve been digging into the latest updates in AI Agent Studio, and honestly, this is one of those features that actually lives up to the hype. It’s not just a “filter”; it’s a sophisticated AI agent designed to act as a first-pass recruiter.
What exactly is the Job Applicant Screening Advisor?
In short, it’s an AI-powered assistant that lives within Oracle Recruiting. Instead of a recruiter manually scanning 500 resumes to see who has “Python experience” or “5 years of management,” the agent does it for you.
It analyzes a candidate’s resume against the specific job requirements and provides a concise summary of why they are (or aren’t) a fit. It’s designed to reduce the “drudge work” so recruiters can focus on the human side of hiring—like interviewing and culture fit.
Setting up –
- Go to Navigator > Tools > AI Agent Studio.
- Search the Job Applicant Screening Agent template and click Copy Template.
- Add a suffix to the template. This will ensure that all the building blocks of the agent team are created and named as per your configuration nomenclature.
- Publish the agent.
- Create a guided journey and add a task. For details, see Configure Agent Guided Journey.
- In Visual Builder Studio, browse to a job application and select edit. For details, see Extend Application Page with Agent Guided Journey.
- Add the agent code.
- Publish the page.
A common fear is that AI will start rejecting people autonomously. Oracle has built this with a “Human in the Loop” philosophy. The AI provides the advice and the summary, but the recruiter still makes the final call on who moves to the next stage. It’s an assistant, not a replacement.
Starting with the Oracle 25D upgrade, the Job Applicant Screening Advisor is available at no additional licensing cost, provided you use the standard, out-of-the-box configuration. As long as you don’t customize or modify the agent’s core logic in AI Agent Studio, you can leverage this powerful automation within your existing subscription.
